As a technical leader in remote sensing and data science, my interested focus around the remote sensing biomass, land-cover, water use, and the monitoring of vegetation. I work with and develop teams who solve problems related to remote sensing, image analysis, machine learning, and spatial analysis within the context of plants and living system.
My joy comes from working with excited teams investigating what information living systems have to tell us about the environment, examining informatic feedbacks between living systems and their environments, and how this information can be used to predict and monitor regional and global climate trends. Identifying the relationships and issues that human activity has on the earths landscape is critical if our goal is to maintain a habitable planet into the future.
I work state or local regulatory bodies to incorporate remotely sensed data into their planning and decision making process, and with organizations who are interested in making a targeted and direct impact on climate change. As part of this I get to work with excellent teams who are focused on practical and applicable solutions to the worlds problems.

I'm a gardener, bike rider, brewer, tinkerer, woodworker, whatever-er. I volunteer for several projects centered around justice and equity for all, including with the Safer Spaces for BLM, Common Defense, and Continue to Serve. Someday I think I would like to start a non-profit focused on exposing youth to the nitty-gritty of science and technology.
I grow pretty much anything I can get my hands on, including citrus, orchids, ornamental flowers, and homegrown vegetables. If I can get my hands on a cutting, I'll probably try and grow it. I’ve been building my garden at my home here in Corvallis and have built up around 1200 sqft of gardens over the past 5 years. My pride and joy is the Yuzu orchard I’ve developed that has taken the last several years. What with climate change and disease ravaging the planet, maybe someday I’ll be the citrus King of the central Willamette Valley!
Outside of the garden I like to go on long bike rides and would like to someday ride the west coast from Canada to Mexico. Currently, I'm riding a Trek as my daily commuter, and have a Randonee for weekend rides.
